Precautionary Measures in Response to COVID-19

Precautionary Measures in Response to COVID-19

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: All Pack and Den Meetings are cancelled until further notice at the urging of the New Birth of Freedom Council. Read more about their instructions here.

The upcoming Bridging and AOL Awards Pack meeting is included in this cancellation.

A final determination is also being made regarding the Astronaut visit scheduled for April 2, 2020 with Astronaut Robert Hines.

Please watch for a Scoutbook Email from the Cubmaster with an updated schedule for the remainder of the Scout Year very soon.

In the meantime, remember:

A Scout is brave. Do not be afraid. Adults, doctors, nurses, and community leaders are taking many steps to protect you and your family from the threat of this virus.

A Scout is helpful. Do your part to help with chores, keep your home and classroom clean. It doesn’t hurt to wipe down faucets, door handles, light switches and other commonly used surfaces often with a disinfectant spray or wipe.

A Scout is clean. Use excellent personal hygiene habits like washing your hands frequently throughout the day, especially before and after meals and restroom breaks. Cover your mouth with your arm when you cough or sneeze. And for a while anyway, keep your distance from friends, teachers, and family members – especially if they are not feeling 100% well.

A Scout is friendly. If you know someone who is sick, do something thoughtful to help cheer them up. Send them a text, an email, a card, and a little note to ensure they feel loved. Being sick is lonely, so help them feel less lonely by sharing your friendship remotely.

If you have a fever, cough, or other symptoms associated with COVID-19, or if you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, you should isolate and contact your healthcare provider immediately.
